Chalet de la Manche enjoys an enviable position in perhaps the Porte du Soleil’s most coveted valley; the Vallee de la Manche. Recently built and designed by local architect Hervé Marullaz, it provides an inspiring living environment that makes the very best of its blinding location.

Inside it doesn’t disappoint either. Wherever you turn, you’ll find Chalet de la Manche littered with an eclectic treasure trove of Alpine delights. All provide this chalet with a unique yet innate sense of the region within which it sits.

The main living space is defined by the huge windows that draw the towering Angalon mountain into the room. Double height walls provide the perfect canvas for any number of quirky items, and the open-plan kitchen and dining space create a further sense of space. From above the cozy snug that looks down upon it provides a quiet spot from which to curl up with a book.

The bedrooms feel more intimate, yet no less stimulating. A butterfly collection, local crockery and pages from 1930’s magazines are just a selection of the decoration on show, whilst Eames lounge chairs and leather Chesterfields provide the perfect spot from which to take them in.

The chalet has two bedrooms on each floor, making it ideal for two families sharing. Upstairs the two double bedrooms both share a well-equipped bathroom. The first enjoys its own sitting area, as well as two balconies that begin to creep into the surrounding forest. In the bedroom next door, the balcony takes you out onto a decked area enjoying an imposing view of both Angalon and Nyon, whilst the room itself benefits from a double height ceiling stretching up to the roof.

Head down the winding staircase and you’ll find a further two bedrooms. The first double room is a vast space, complete with its own reading area and French windows that open out onto the outdoor area. The second bedroom is a twin room which also enjoys French windows to the outside. The downstairs is completed by a further bathroom and a spacious boot-room with access to the parking spaces outside.

Chalet de la Manche sleeps eight comfortably, although a further two beds can be added to the bedrooms for extra children if required. It comes with the following features

- Champagne and canapés to enjoy at your leisure upon your arrival.

- An Alpine Welcome Pack, complete with an interesting range of goodies from across the region and a Mountain Briefing to guide you through the week.

- A selection of ‘basics’ to help you settle straight away, and avoid any last minute dashes to the shops.

- Bespoke children’s rooms complete with their own bedding, games chest and dressing up.

- A big HD TV which makes watching the selection of films a joy. A cabinet stocked with board games for traditionalists, and a Nintendo Wii for the rest.

- Plus an iPod docking station, and an iPod chock full of hand picked music to sit in it.

- A snug overlooking the vast living space, complete with a range of inspiring books, which you can post back once you’ve finished.

- Outside, a traditional toboggan, and a NavMan GPS to see how fast you can take it. Inside, bootwarmers so you’re set again for the next morning.

- Wifi throughout.

A 25% deposit is payable to secure the booking, with the balance payable eight weeks prior to your stay
