The ski resorts were established between the two world wars. This period, the "big bang" of the winter sports, ended with the creation of a renowned resort in Haute Savoie just after 1945. This resort was an achievment of the baroness of Rotschild to challenge the neighbouring Swiss alpine resorts

About Les Coches/Montchavin

Les Coches is a typic resort of fourth generation. Indeed, it has a village aspect thanks to its buildings imitating chalets with stone, wood and roofs of lauzes. Walking around is made more convenient and pleasant thanks to the split between vehicles and pedestrians traffic.

Since 2003, Les Coches hosts the Vanoise Express cable car which links La Plagne resort and the Paradiski ski domain for creating the largest and most spectacular ski area.

The Ski Area: Paradiski

Paradiski is a ski-area offering uninterrupted skiing in between the areas of Les Arcs, Peisey-Vallandry and La Plagne.
