About Les Arcs

A series of ground breaking developments for the ski world originated here in Les Arcs which helped cement it as one of the best ski destinations within the Alps.  It was the first  to build a series of resorts at different altitudes as well as leading the way as one of the first resorts to champion the sport we now know as snowboarding!

Located in the Savoie region of France, Les Arcs is made up of four modern resorts known as Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950 and Arc 2000.  All resorts are self contained villages where visitors can choose from a variety of accommodation to suit all budgets.  The largest of all the resorts is Arc 1800 which is home to the majority of shops, restaurants, bars and clubs, however, is still considered quite quiet on the social scene in comparison to its Alpine competitors.  A huge hit with families, the Tourism Board has awarded the area with the highest grade for its children’s facilities so parents can be assured of lots of choice when it comes to keeping the kids entertained on and off the slopes.

All of the resorts offer fantastic access to the infamous Paradiski area and its vast array of ski terrain guaranteeing something for skiers and boarders of all level and experience. With over 50% of the 120 pistes being graded blue or red the area is a beginners and intermediates paradise with the more advanced amongst us being able to get their teeth stuck into lots of exciting off piste and heart stopping black runs.  Boarders can celebrate the resorts role in the history of their sport in the specialist park with its half-pipe, jumps and boardercross course.

With pistes reaching above 2,500 metres and the use of 10 snow cannons, visitors are assured of good levels of snow throughout the season.
