Well we didn't expect this to happen, but the spring snow has now turned into January conditions and all across the Alps, many of the resorts are enjoying snowfalls of over 1 meter with the freezing level going down do sea level in some places - this means that even the low resorts have swapped their spring looking fields, to a winter wonderland all over again!!

This is gearing up to be one of the best end of seasons on record, and with April accommodation prices at rock bottom due to the early easter this year, you really should consider a cheap late season ski holiday!

New Resort - Argentiere

The next addition to the Independent Mountain website pretty much completes our coverage of the Chamonix valley, and we will be developing our directory of properties and services available in Argentiere over the next few months!! Here is some information for you to see on Argentiere:

Argentière is located near the head of the valley of Chamonix. It is connected with Switzerland by the pass over the Col des Montets, and the Col de la Forclaz to Martigny in the Rhône valley. Argentière is the starting point for the cable car up to Les Grands Montets (3,295m), a skiing area famous for its steep and demanding slopes, both on-piste as well as off-piste.

Peak Weeks - Book Now

This has been an incredible year for snow in the Alps, and the bookings are already in full swing for next year. With ski/snowboard holidays becoming increasingly popular, the demand for accommodation over the peak weeks couldn't be higher. We are finding that the New Year and Half-Term properties are getting booked up earlier and earlier these days, so if you are considering a holiday of the school holidays next year, then make sure to get in touch with us ASAP so that we can find the right property for your group. The large properties are already filling up for the big groups, so don't leave it too long as otherwise you may miss out!!
