SUMMER SEASON WILL START ON SATURDAY, JUNE 7th
Summer season will start on Saturday, June 7th.
Pleney’s cable car and MTB’s downhill track will open every day in June.
The whole Portes du Soleil’s area (24 lifts) will be open from 27th of June to 31st of August.
The swimming pool will open one week later, the 14th of June.
We’ve had a busy year at Independent Mountain, and it’s thanks to all of you visiting the website and coming on holiday with us that we can continue to keep growing and providing the high level of service that we pride ourselves on!! We aim to continue our growth of all of our current resorts, and over the course of the year bring even more resorts for you to choose from!!
1. How much of your business relies on tourism?
100% of my business relies on tourism – be it property owners or clients coming on holiday, it’s all related to the Mountain tourist trade!!
2. How much of your business relies on sport-related tourism?
I would say that 95% of my business relies on sport-related tourism, as primarily people owning properties or having holidays in the mountains are here for the sport, with the remaining 5% for quality of life.
3. Which are the busy months?
Winter: Mid-December through to the end of April
After a great couple of years building up a detailed list of properties and information on our mountain resorts, we are about to launch our summer operation - Independent Summer. We will be starting by offering beach properties on the east coast of Australia, and will then be looking at covering the south coast of France so that we will have a year round summer industry for you to choose from.

An event unlike any other in the world…
The first Slopestyle Roof’an will take place right in the village centre, not down on the ground but up on the rooftops. The run, littered with gaps, jumps, wall-rides, big air, foot bridges and other challenging obstacles, is the first of its kind, unique the whole world over.
With this innovative track, competitors won’t believe their eyes and will really have to pull out all the stops to win this event.

For the third consecutive year, Morzine will propose a true cocktail of eclecticism with two evenings live astonishing… After having accommodated Miss K, one of the female revelations of the French scene in 2007, Morzine Live concentrates its programming on the new talents and other musical revelations.

MELL (décoiffées Songs) Last thundering album Petri of Punk-Rock’n'roll influenced jazz, manouche and energy… a clashing cocktail. On scene, MELL reveals an unforeseeable personality and surprising sound improvisations which led it to occur with artists such as Camille, Brigitte Fontaine, Wampas or San Sévérino. The next addition to the Independent Mountain website pretty much completes our coverage of the Chamonix valley, and we will be developing our directory of properties and services available in Argentiere over the next few months!! Here is some information for you to see on Argentiere:
Argentière is located near the head of the valley of Chamonix. It is connected with Switzerland by the pass over the Col des Montets, and the Col de la Forclaz to Martigny in the Rhône valley. Argentière is the starting point for the cable car up to Les Grands Montets (3,295m), a skiing area famous for its steep and demanding slopes, both on-piste as well as off-piste.
We have just added Val d’Isere onto the Independent Mountain website, and already have a few beautiful properties for you to choose from!!
Val-d’Isère is most recognisable by its charming “chalet” architecture. Along with nearby Tignes the area forms part of the “l’Espace Killy”, the self-titled “Most Beautiful Ski Area in the World.” Beauty aside, the combined space is one of the largest ski areas in the world. The resort has a taste for fundamentals, and knows the secrets of how to make people feel welcome and at ease. Intimate tea rooms, cosy wine bars, trendy pubs or elegant hotel bars. There’s a snow alert for Morzine with 40 - 50cm forecast between Sunday and Wednesday. The conditions are fantastic at the moment, but it is cold, so if you’re coming out to the resort next week then make sure to bring lots of layers!!
